Initial Setup
- Oven Readiness: Bring your oven to a steady temperature of 180°C (350°F).
- Pan Preparation: Thoroughly grease your chosen baking pan and dust it lightly with flour to prevent sticking.
Step 1: Blend the Base Elements
- Pour the liquid ingredients and sweetener directly into your blender jar: 3 whole eggs, 150 ml of oil, 240 ml of milk, and 1 cup of sugar.
- Process on a medium-to-high setting until the liquid base turns uniform, light, and nicely aerated. This process generally takes between 60 to 120 seconds.
Step 2: Combine the Dry Powders
- In a spacious mixing bowl, sift the remaining dry components through a fine-mesh strainer: 1 cup of cornstarch (Maizena), 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 1 cup of all-purpose wheat flour. Sifting introduces air, ensuring the final crumb is exceptionally delicate.
- Slowly pour the aerated egg mixture from the blender directly into the bowl with the sifted dry powders.
Step 3: Gentle Incorporation
Baker’s Note: Use a rubber spatula or a manual balloon whisk to gently combine the ingredients using circular, folding motions. Stop mixing the moment the flour disappears into the batter. Overworking the mixture at this stage will ruin the tender texture, resulting in a dense cake.
Step 4: Baking Process
- Transfer the smooth batter into your prepared cake pan.
- Place it into the center of your preheated oven and bake for roughly 35 to 45 minutes.
- The Doneness Test: Poke a wooden toothpick deep into the middle of the cake. If it emerges dry and clean without wet batter clinging to it, the cake is perfectly baked.
Step 5: Cool down and Presentation
- Take the pan out of the oven and let it sit on a counter to cool for about 10 minutes before attempting to invert and unmold it.
- Once the cake reaches room temperature, elevate its look with a delicate dusting of powdered sugar if desired. Slice and enjoy your homemade treat!
